Over the past three decades Longboat Key has been transformed from a 50's beach motel resort island into an exclusive residential seasonal community. Along with changes in demographics and property values, businesses have had to adapt to changing conditions. There are now fewer people on the island for fewer months a year. The types of retail services supported by residents are not the same as those that attract tourists. 

Town Government

I have been actively participating in town government for two decades. The current town commission has been on the wrong course for the past three years. During that time the community has lost ground and failed to keep pace with neighboring communities.

If the current commission does not change course, we are likely to continue to go nowhere.

This commission is directly responsible for stalling the Key Club expansion project and has frozen real estate sales on the south end for too long. This commission has failed. They have not made things better for the tax payers.
